"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will see the repercussion of Kai doing the unthinkable in the finale of Season 6 which saw a lot of death, including his whole Gemini clan and eventually his own at the hands of Damon, but what's really troubling was that he brought Lily Salvatore's so-called family from the prison world to the present. Now, expect Mystic Falls to be The Heretics' new playground as they create havoc in the premiere episode of the CW hit TV series.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed executive producer Caroline Dries gave away details that Season 7 will see a first glimpse of The Heretics which are composed of three women and three men. In the premiere, five will be introduced. Now that's a lot of villains for the Salvatore brothers and company to deal with.
Dries remarked that The Heretics' introduction will be "the first time we've seen our characters go against them and they go, 'Oh, we don't know what we're doing.' It's very hard."
"The three women are this little posse of bad girls. Valerie, who has this brooding darkness to her. We learn early on in the season she got burned in the past, and it transformed her into this person; she wasn't always this way. And then there's Mary Louise and Nora who are very fun and a gallon of pep and fireworks. They're very different - they're dating, but they have different desires. One wants to explore the world; Nora, is like, 'Look, we just got out of prison, let's stretch our arms and legs a little bit.' And [Mary] is like, 'I'm insecure in letting you go.' They're fun to watch, because they have this great, normal relationship in an abnormal environment."
"[And for the boys] there's one guy named Beau, who is Lily's henchman-y guy," Dries continued. "He's very loyal and mysterious. And so he is very scary and weird. And then there's this guy, Malcolm, who is the kiss-up, Lily's pet. And then there's a mystery guy, Oscar, who is only mentioned in the premiere. We're wondering where is that guy? But he's a real trip when you meet him."
Of course, the brains behind The Heretics is the Salvatore matriarch who will use her sons, Damon and Stefan, to her own advantage.
Dries has stated that Lily Salvatore works behind the scene, sort of a puppet master. According to TV Guide, the showrunner of the CW hit TV series said, "She has a way of being manipulating and calculating and she knows how to push her son's buttons. We'll see the brothers start to turn against each other, but they'll catch on and Lily, as much as she loves her sons, has her own agenda. So, she is a villain in that what she wants opposes what our heroes want, but in her mind all she wants is peace and she would love it if everyone would get along."
