LG V10 Specs, Features & Release Date: Larger G4 Smartphone To Come With Auxiliary Display

LG is not giving up on the battle of smartphone releases. The South Korean electronics tycoon is said to be preparing a special phablet with "auxiliary ticker display," and it is set to be called the LG V10.
The smartphone market is getting congested with new releases of flagship phones this year, and LG is strategically releasing a new handset just a couple of months ago. Its new device, the LG V10, is expected to turn heads with its unique gimmicky feature that the company may have borrowed from Samsung's not so successful Continuum in 2010. According to Android Police, the auxiliary screen is reminiscent of that of the Continuum since it is a secondary display for specific features of the phone.
LG's V10 was previously spotted at China's TENAA, and sources say the secondary display will be limited to displaying RSS Feed updates, tex messages and other types of notifications. It isn't clear if it has other functions, but based on this alone, it's hard not to compare it to what Samsung did to its Edge line — giving an extra display for notifications and other minimal activities.
The new smartphone from LG is said to come with a 5.7-inch Quad-HD display, as per GSM Arena. The handset will have 3GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. There is no mention yet on the size limit of its expandable memory.
Performance-wise, the LG G4 is rumored to deliver quality speed and precision with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. The phone's camera technology is also above average with a 16-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter, NDTV Gadgets has learned.
Other specs and features of the LG V10, which sports the physical buttons at the back just like LG's latest handsets, will be revealed in the coming days leading to the big reveal on Oct. 1.
CNET has received an invitation on Monday for the New York event that will happen just a few days before Microsoft holds its Windows 10 event.
