The Chevrolet Cruze 2016, the company's beloved sedan, is finally getting an update according to NSEA Voice.
Fans of Chevrolet's sedan are already speculating the specifications of the car. The excitement for the new car is further evident with the declining sales of the current model, a clear indication of buyers anticipating the latest Cruze.
Rumors are spreading that General Motors' Chevrolet is getting pressured to release the Cruze 2016. The latest sedan from Chevrolet is even expected to experience an explosive release.
According to GM Authority, Chevrolet also announced that the Chevrolet Cruze 2016 will even come in a hatchback variant to compete with the Ford Focus.
As reported by Detroit News, GM CFO spoke about the hatchback Cruze during a meeting in Las Vegas.
"We are excited about the introduction of the all-new 2016 Cruze and what it will offer customers," a Chevrolet spokeswoman said. "The hatch variant helped make the Cruze Chevrolet's best-selling car globally and that body style will continue to be offered in various markets. However, we are not confirming markets, timing or content at this time."
As per reports, 40 percent of buyers are choosing to buy the Ford Focus Hatchback variant in the United States. And, according to analysts, by 2018, hatchback sales will have more than five-percent growth in the market.
Digital Trends reported the new Chevrolet Cruze 2016 will feature a lighter chassis that is 27 percent more rigid than the current model.
As for the engine, the U.S, Canada and Mexico models will be slapped with a 1.4 liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that has a whopping 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque — a clear improvement over the 2015 model which only gives out 138 horsepower.
Two transmissions will also be offered: six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual. Keeping with the lightweight theme of the incoming model, the automatic transmission will also be 24 pounds lighter than the previous Cruze.
The Chevrolet Cruse 2016 also has an estimated 40 Miles per Gallon consumption on the highway. Adding to the car's fuel saving capabilities, the car will also have a fuel-sipping Start/Stop feature, which comes standard with the automatic.
The Chevrolet Cruze 2015 is expected to be released on the first quarter of next year.
