The 2016 Ford Escape may be new, but it's already garnering positive reviews.
According to Autos, the 2016 Ford Escape is crammed with new technology. Regarding is exterior, not much has changed, but the interior is described as "surprisingly sporty."
The seats are well appointed for its class and the layout of the 2016 Ford Escape was compared to the Ford Focus. The new Escape is also quite roomy, with the rear passenger area having sufficient space with some cargo room to spare.
According to the report, even adult passengers will find the new Ford Escape as quite roomy.
As for the engine, the 2016 Ford Escape is equipped with either a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder "Ecoboost" engine, a 2-liter 4-cylinder Ecoboost engine or a 2.5 liter natually aspirated four-cylinder engine, all of which runs on gasoline.
The 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four cylinder produces 168 horsepower with about 170 lb/ft of torque. The 1.6-liter turbocharged "Ecoboost" gives 178 horsepower and 184 lb/ft of torque and lastly the 2.0 liter "Ecoboost" that delivers 240 horsepower and 270 lb/ft of torque.
For the vehicle's transmission, it is equipped with a very responsive six-speed automatic. Unfortunately for purists, a manual transmission is not available.
The standard gas consumption of the 2016 Ford Escape has an estimate of 22 miles per gallon in the city, with 31 miles per gallon on highway.
As reported by Toms Guide, the 2016 Ford Escape is also equipped with a "Ford Sync" feature that serves as an integrated in-vehicle communication and entertainment system.
The 2016 Ford Escape "Sync" is not too shabby either. Boasting an 8-inch screen, the driver or any of the passengers can easily navigate "Sync" on the touchscreen system. Unfortunately, Ford has yet to allow Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to be integrated, but said that they are planning on incorporating it soon.
Wheels.ca reported that the new Ford Escape will have a base price of $26,499.
