"Annabelle 2" is finally happening! The hit 2014 horror flick is reported getting a sequel after being a spinoff to another horror movie, "The Conjuring." According to IGN, its predecessor depicted the spooky tale of a possessed doll named Annabelle, who is in the possession of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

For movie junkies, New Line Cinema and Warner Bro.'s plan to have an "Annabelle 2" is not really surprising. So, here are 3 reasons why the demonic doll has been conjured for another horror movie spinoff.

1. Because the first "Annabelle" movie grossed an impressive $246 million globally.

The news of "Annabelle 2" shouldn't be all too surprising since the first film earned 35 times its meager $6.5 million budget last year. Thus, another murder-doll masterpiece will be lingering for quite a long time, as per A.V. Club.

2. Because screenwriter Gary Dauberman is back to pen the script.

Dauberman will rattle "Annabelle 2" audiences with another creepy-as-hell storyline. However, Dauberman is the only returning presence on the sequel aside from the spooky doll. As reported, original director John Leonetti and producer James Wan, who is currently busy with "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist," have not yet signed on for the upcoming sequel.

3. Because "Annabelle" is one of the most successful ghost-haunting film of this decade.

Following the surprisingly huge success of "The Conjuring," "Annabelle" was rushed into production to be its spinoff film, Screen Rant noted. Fortunately, it struck a sweet spot for Hollywood and became successful, raking millions at the box office. But even though it made a lot of money, word of mouth has not been kind to "Annabelle." Do you think "Annabelle 2" will be follow the success of its predecessor?

Meanwhile, "Annabelle 2" is in active development but no current release date has been announced yet. As for the infamous Annabelle Doll, its mystery and chilling facts have continued to spark curiosity among its viewers. While it does exist and is currently residing in the Warren Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut, it is enclosed in a wooden case with a sign saying, "Warning: Do Not Touch."

The Warrens built the special case for Annabelle, who was not possessed but influenced by an "inhuman presence," because Ed Warren believed that no one should challenge evil, "for no man are more powerful than Satan," as previously reported.
