What makes this day special from any other day for Apple and its many clients? Friday is the anniversary of the company's co-founder and former chief executive, Steve Jobs. On Apple.com, a 105 second video has been uploaded of black-and-white photos of Mr. Jobs in his commemoration He can be heard promoting Apple products and discussing the corporate philosophy. Next a message from Tim Cook, the present CEO of Apple stating:
"Steve's passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place.
One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No other company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the great privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future."
The one year anniversary is commendable in its endeavor of holding a charity auction of limited-editions of Mac Books. The bottom of the laptops has a famous quote, an encouragement to live life beyond the boundaries which have been set out; he leaves us with this reminder:
"When you grow up you, tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world, try not to bash into the walls too much, try to have a nice family, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader, once you discover one simple fact, and that is that everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again."
