WWE Smackdown laid the smackdown with this week's episode.
With just five days until the battle for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens took the stage during Smackdown's taping at Knoxville, TN.
As reported by Bleacher Report, the show started with an appearance on Miz TV and as always, when superstars take to the ring for the company's resident talk show, things quickly explode and a tag team match main event was announced.
Among the many issues tackled on the show was between Dolph Ziggler and Tyler Breeze. In addition, Ryback found himself at odds with The New Day for the second consecutive night.
Moreover, The Undertaker and Kane sent one last message to The Wyatt Family ahead of this Sunday's huge tag team match.
Now let's talk about those matches.
As reported by Uproxx, in what's to become the quickest match of the night, Cesaro won the match against The Miz in a quick 90 seconds. It all started with his Miz TV "show" with the "R-Truth" reprising his role that he's not involved in the upcoming match between Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns vs Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens. Miz got upset, demanded his match to be cancelled. It may not got cancelled but it did end quickly.
Dolph Ziggler was having a promo at the ring when Tyler Breeze and Summer Rae suddenly cut him. However, he got some sweet revenge because after Breeze's match against Zack Ryder, Ziggler delivered a hard super kick to his face.
Once again, one of the biggest storylines in WWE right now is between The Brothers of Destruction and The Wyatt Family.
As usual, the cult-like stable wore creepy sheepmasks and the leader, Bray Wyatt, started a promo. However, they quickly frowned when they were interrupted on the big screen by their Survivor Series opponents, The Undertaker and Kane.
According to Wrestling Inc., Kane appeared with a burning sheep mask and finished the promo while The Deadman does a "rest in peace" while the turnbuckles explode.
But the biggest moment of the night is the tag team match between the reunited The Shield Duo vs Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio.
It was an interesting match because The Shield is facing the guys who both hold the U.S. and Intercontinental Championship belts.
The match was nothing short of exciting as an all-out brawl breaks out between the four WWE superstars. In the end, The Shield won via disqualification after Del Rio threw Reigns into the steel steps.
All in all, this episode of WWE Smackdown serves as a great appetizer for the upcoming pay-per-view, Survivor Series.
