Jaden Smith, the famous son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith and lead star of The Karate Kid just recently scored a contract with Louis Vuitton. Jaden Smith is officially the newest face in the Louis Vuitton family. To celebrate, he wore a Louis Vuitton skirt.
The seventeen year old rapper has been a busy boy. He was recently hand-picked by Nicholas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton's designer and creative director, to lead the new line campaign.
The fashion house creative has posted two Instagram pictures using his social media handle @nicholasghesquiere. One picture of him introducing Smith wearing a black leather jacket, a long black skirt, glovelets and a black & white fringed top, captioned:
Happy to introduce Jaden Smith @christiaingrey in the new SS16 @louisvuitton ad Campaign photographed by Bruce Weber
The second picture is of Jaden Smith posing with models Sarah Brannon, Jean Campbell and Rianne Van Rompaey, wearing the same outfit.
The celebrity is known for his unusual dress-up style. His unusual fashion choices range from wearing dresses for shirts and wearing skirts for shorts. So this is no surprise that the fashion house acquired him for the gender fluid ad campaign.
This is a marketing opportunity for the fashion house to use Smith's taste in wearing skirts as a vehicle for their own clothing line which will involve him modelling women's wear from the Louis Vuitton Spring and Summer collection of 2016.
Smith is a busy entrepreneur. His portfolio included his previous film roles, music career as well as his own clothing line MSFTSrep. He uses his style and taste as the basis for his clothing line.
He was named as one of GQ's 20 Most Stylish men Alive last year. His most popular choices include wearing a skirt to his prom and a white Batman suit at the Kardashian-West nuptials.
He is very vocal about his taste in clothing and builds his look on what he first sees on the ground.
While known for his eccentric style, he attributed his taste to Batman, Superman, Robin and West. He called himself "The King of Animal Print". However, the rapper prefers to wear black and drapey clothing.
