A physical card game has recently launched its own iOS version. The Exploding Kittens topped the United States App Store's paid apps list. The game exploded in the app store - but in a good way.

If you're familiar with the physical card game version, The Exploding Kittens is a game for people who are into kittens, explosions, laser beams and sometimes goats. It is a game designed by game developers Elan Lee, Shane Small and "The Oatmeal" artist - Matthew Inman. What started out as a project seeking crowd funding turned into the most adorable game topping the paid app's list. Also, according to Kickstarter's official list, the card game is the fifth most funded project.

Ultimately, after more than 200,000 backers, the game launched and players, including the backers, around the globe started playing on July 2015.

The game is described to be similar to a "Russion roulette". Players draw cards until an exploding kitten comes up and the player loses.

Now, the fancy kickstarter game has an iOS version. This gives mobile users another reason to love cats more. The game requires a minimum of two players and a maximum of five.

The app version was developed by the Substantial Team who worked with the card creators in its design and development.

The app game has features not found in the original card game.

Apple users can download the version 1.0 right now and developers has released information that additional features and game expansions can be expected from the app - soon.

Don't worry, Android users. An Android version is currently being worked on by the team.

Smart phone users will pretty much have another thing to keep their minds occupied with during subway rides and while waiting for their food orders.

The multiplayer game is now available for download at $1.99 and right now, in-app purchases are free - for a limited time only.
