You might be anxious in writing your first resume since you don't have any experience about doing anything of this sort. But don't let it bother you. There are some good advice out there (including this one) that will help you craft a good first resume that will get you hired.
Since this is your first resume, you must do a lot of thinking before you set it out on paper. Here is how to do it.
Your resume will fall on the table of an HR staff, then the supervisor, and finally in the hands of the HR manager. Normally, these people have hundreds of resumes to consider for just one or two job vacancies.
Therefore it is good if your resume is not that long. You won't have any problem with this one since you are just starting out in your career.
2. Focus on your good points
Since most of your experiences are school work, focus on the good things that you've done in school, such as the excellent grades that you got on this and that subject or the awards and raves you received in an extra-curricular activity, and so forth.
3. Focus on your skills and talents required by the job
You may have the necessary education and lots of talents and skills to boot, but they are not all needed for the job. So focus on the things that matter and emphasize their importance in getting the job done.
Now that you have collated all your materials, it is time to put them in resume form. According to point 1, you need to keep it short, concise and clear in all aspects.
Organize your resume into neat headings such as Education, Skills, Talents, Experience, and so forth. Then fill them up with all the necessary information centered on the job you are applying for.
5. Proofread your resume at least two times
Don't be satisfied once you're finished with your first resume. It's just your first draft. You will see lots of things to improve on as you read through it twice.
