Multiple outlets have reported that Ian Somerhalder is blaming Nina Dobrev for the rumored cancellation of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. The actress left the show after six seasons
According to CDL, the "TVD" star may be blaming his ex-girlfriend and ex-costar, Nina Dobrev, for the decline in the series' popularity as well as its possible cancellation. "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 has experienced a drop in viewership as well as a change in schedule.
The publication noted that Nina Dobrev's exit from the show may be because of Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed. There are speculations that the "Final Girls" actress may be going to "The Originals" instead.
Last year, Nina Dobrev has addressed her split with Ian Somerhalder. "I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship," she told E! News.
"I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."
The CW has confirmed DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2, "The Flash" season 3, "Arrow" season 5, "Supernatural" season 12, "iZombie" season 3, "Jane the Virgin" season 3, "The 100" season 4 and "Reign" season 4 for their 2016-2017 schedule. "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 and "The Originals" season 4 is also being created.
It was previously reported that Nina Dobrev was "stunned" and "disgusted" with "TVD's" renewal for one more season. Apparently, the "Final Girls" star may have wanted the series to fall flat on its face.
It was rumored that the actress wanted to get back at Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed by leaving "The Vampire Diaries" after season 6. Her departure, which led to a decline in viewership for the show, seemed to be the best revenge to sabotage her ex-boyfriend's career.
