IBT reported that "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 may end with Ian Somerhalder's character, Damon Salvatore, dying. The latest promo video seemed as if Rayna has finally succeeded in convincing Stefan to transfer his mark to his brother.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 15 showed that Damon Salvatore already had the perfect plan to kill the huntress. However, he had to dropped his plans after Bonnie informed him that if Rayna dies, Stefan will also die since he has her mark on him.
To save his brother's life, Ian Somerhalder's character has decided to put his life on the line and have the mark transferred to himself. Rayna agreed since she has always thought that Damon was the one who deserved the mark.
"The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 16 spoilers predicted that Rayna will be transferring Stefan's mark on Damon. The Apr. 1 episode of the series is entitled "Days of Future Past."
The upcoming episode is directed by Ian Somerhalder, who made his directorial debut last year. It was noted that episode 16 will see Somerhalder's character, Damon, strive to make things back to rights with his brother, Stefan.
Movie Pilot noted that Ian Somerhalder may follow Nina Dobrev's footsteps and leave the series to "further his acting career." The actor has not addressed the speculations.
According to IBT, there are rumors that Damon will die at the end of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. The publication noted, though, that it is highly unlikely for Somerhalder to quit at this time since season 8 has been confirmed.
It was also previously reported that Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley may join "TVD" spin-off series, "The Originals." Apparently, Caroline, Candice Accola's character in "The Vampire Diaries," could also be in the spin-off.
