The Apple iPhone SE specs may have VR integration. Although there have been no official announcements by the tech giant yet about delving into virtual reality, there are speculations that they will eventually make their own product.
BGR reported that Tim Cook has not given any hint on wanting to try their hand at VR. The publication noted that Apple may be playing it safe with their VR products.
Apparently, the tech giant has a "sneaky" tool that they can use for virtual reality. Could the Apple iPhone SE's specs be the key?
It was previously reported that Apple iPhone SE specs are rumored to feature a 12-megapixel camera as well as an A9 processor. This will help it become a "formidable device" in terms of hardware.
If the rumors prove true, the Apple iPhone SE specs would definitely be better than the iPhone 6's A8 chip. The current iPhone is retailed at $549.
Analyst Gene Munster, for the investment firm Piper Jaffray, believes that Apple will include not only the virtual reality feature in its plans but augmented reality as well. "But it'll do so at first with the help of strategic partnership," BGR wrote.
According to Apple Insider, Apple may be collaborating with third-party companies to develop iPhone-powered VR headsets. Munster claims that the company will extend its Made for iPhone accessory certification program to take VR headsets into account.
"Although it's too early to say what the transition to VR/MR will mean to Apple's model, we are confident Apple will be a significant player in creating the next computing paradigm," he wrote. "While Apple has yet to launch a product that cannibalizes the iPhone franchise, we believe that the company realizes that the smartphone as we know it won't last forever."
In another report by BGR, it was noted that the tech giant has been gathering a team of engineers as well as researchers with experiences in virtual and augmented reality. Furthermore, they may have already created prototype headsets.
