Apple iOS 9.3 Crashes And Bugs: Newest Update A Failure? Users Complain

Not all is well with Apple's initial rollout of the new iOS 9.3. Instead of getting positive feedback from users, the latest update was plagued with complaints about crashes and bugs.
The Guardian recently reported that Apple is on top of the issue at hand and has promised to do a follow-up update to solve the problems of the iOS 9.3. According to the outlet, the problem has been rampant with users of the iPhone 5 and older models, and the iPad Air and earlier tablet models.
"Hundreds of iPhone and iPad users have been hit by multiple bugs locking their devices or causing them to crash since the release of Apple's latest operating software, iOS 9.3," the publication noted. "Apple released a second edition of the iOS 9.3 update for these older devices, which allows users to skip the Apple ID check before the device is activated and boot it up, as is normally the case with iOS updates. Those users locked out of their iPhones and iPads could plug the device into their computer and apply the updated iOS 9.3 to unbrick them."
Apart from the locking issue, the new update also causes several apps like Mail, Messages and Safari to crash when used. The cause of the problem has been determined to be a bug from the app Booking.com.
"Developers isolated the problem to the Booking.com app. Steve Troughton-Smith and Ben Collier discovered that the app had a 2.3MB Universal Links essentially listing every link on the Booking.com site," The Guardian claimed. "The file appears to cause issues via its sheer size as well as within iOS's Shared Web Credentials system, sending the iPhone or iPad into a crash loop causing it to become unresponsive and drain its batteries faster than normal."
