Tesla Leaks: New Model 3 – 300 Mile Range And 4 Seconds From 0-60 MPH

Elon Musk has kept a lid on the exact specifications of his soon-to-launch Tesla Model 3 but Elektrek, a news website tracking the transformation from fossil fuel transportation to electric recently reported that it may have approximately a 300-mile range and can race from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds.
If this is true, range anxiety, which so many electric car fans worry about, will no longer be a problem. And if the car runs that fast, it will be just a tad shy of the acceleration level of Musk's very expensive Model S P90D (3.1 sec) which has a base price of $69,990.
The Tesla Model 3 is reportedly tagged at just $35,000, almost half the price of its pricier next of kin. That's just the right price, so Musk thought since he is targeting the mass market for this entry level EV.
The car's launch is much awaited by the public. "Looks like we may need to increase production plans for the Model 3," tweeted Musk yesterday. He included a screenshot of a survey conducted by CNBC in his tweet which asked readers if they are willing to deposit $1,000 for his latest creation.
At the time when the Elektrek report was written, around 71 percent of the poll respondents said they were willing to pay the DP. Over half of them said they were willing to consummate the deal with an outright purchase.
The CNBC survey together with Musk's comments on the possibility of increasing the Model 3 production numbers brings to focus Tesla's growth plans. This could only mean that Musk will rump up production numbers to keep up with growing demand from hungry EV customers.
Going back to the Model 3, the car will have an interior and exterior design which is a blend between the Model X and the Model S. However, it will be narrower and shorter. Although it has a base price of $35,000, higher trim levels could go up to $60,000.
