Soccer Star Alex Morgan Trains With Vogue Writer Hamish Bowles: How Superstar Became A Professional Player

Have you ever wanted to spend the day with one of the World Cup's United States Women's team champions?
That's exactly what Vogue writer Hamish Bowles did. The reluctant writer was put to work straight away. In Bowle's Vogue article, soccer super-star Alex Morgan describes herself as the "ultimate tomboy." Bowles, on the other hand, describes himself as the ultimate sissy. Their interview started with how Morgan grew up.
Her soccer career started early. She was a competitive child. She always wanted to "...beat the boys at everything, I wanted to be faster; I wanted to be stronger."
In 1999, Morgan saw how the U.S. Women's National soccer team won the FIFA Women's World Cup against China. The team was led by Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy, and Michelle Akers. At that point, she was determined to become a professional soccer player. During high school she was already a star in her high school soccer team, at just 16 years old.
While Bowles had his nails done alongside supernova-star Alex Morgan, the writer did ask about her game focus. Morgan shares that her team is pushing hard for the Olympics that is happening in August. Her training regimen is brutal with only having ,more or less, two and a half weeks without training every year.
But even during her down time, she makes sure to stay on top. She spends her time doing yoga, meditation, and playing beach volleyball. Her dedication to her career is also made possible by her trainer Scott. She's worked with him for six years. And as with all athletes, she's also watching her diet. She does away with the unnecessary stuff.
All because she wants to be better and faster.
At this time, Bowles attempts to catch up while Morgan teaches him how to do a slide tackle.
