World Science Festival 2013 LIVE STREAM at 8PM from Philippines presents "The Whispering Mind", Discussing Artificial Intelligence and Consciousness [VIDEO]

Artificial Intelligence is still in its infancy, but computer scientists are starting to explore the idea of consciousness and how it can be applied to robots that may be created.
The big amorphous ideal of consciousness stems deep within the mystery of the universe, how a man can perceive himself and his actions, dwelling inside the biological organ of his brain, that is a question many must discuss. It is "perhaps the biggest challenges in all neuroscience," commented Scientific American.
"Most brain scientists won’t go near the topic, leaving philosophers to speculate about the a prioris. Even defining what consciousness is quickly devolves into lengthy and often ponderous treatises."
During the 90 minute showing of "The Whispering Mind," the brightest minds of the world will attempt to unravel this mystery and give light to some extreme examples. The luminaries include Christof Koch, a front-edge researcher on the neurological basis of consciousness; Nicholas Schiff, a scientist-physician whose specialty is disorders of consciousness; Mélanie Boly, a researcher and physician who studies various minimally conscious patients; and Colin McGinn, who is known for his work in the philosophy of mind.
The 8pm event will explore the consciousness of other species and consciousness's limitation on the biological brain. The session named "The Whipsering Mind: The Enduring Conundrum of Consciousness" will be moderated by Terry Moran.
