Macbook Pro Student Discount: Macbook Pro Price Dropped to $999 For Students And Teachers! iPhone Giant Releases Retina Display 16GB iPod Touch [VIDEO]

The iPhone giant, after the debut of the new $229 Retina Display iPod Touch with 16GB of memory, has just reduced the price of their 13-inch Macbook Pro for students, teachers, and school staff today.

Apple's online store displays that standard Macbook Pros will be priced at $999.

Though without Retina Display, the Macbook Pro has 2.5 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, with 4GB of memory and 500GB of storage. It's higher-end counterpart, with 2.9GHz dual-core i7 processor, 8GB of memory and 750GB hard-drive built in, is now priced at 1,299.00 as of today.

"MacBook Pro is loaded with powerful features that make a great notebook even greater," claims Apple about the device without Retina Display.

The prices of both versions have been reduced by $100, to help attract college students who are just about to start college, or graduate from its ranks.

There is no announcement from Apple regarding this price reduction. It is possible that the small gesture could be to swiftly sell off non-Retina display models. It is possible that a new model would be announced in the upcoming WWDC.

The new $229 16GB iPod Touch with 4-inch Retina display does not have a rear-facing camera. Its front-facing HD camera, however, would be able to be used for FaceTime. Apple has promised to ship the device within 24 hours.
