The oldest man in the world just died. Jiroemon Kimura (æ¨æ 次éå³è¡é) was previously Guinness World Records' oldest man alive, but he died due to natural causes in his hometown Kyotango, Japan.
The oldest man in the world died to pneumonia after being admitted to a hospital. His blood-sugar level, response and urine production was declining.
Jiroemon Kimura, world's oldest man, died at the age of 116 years, 54 days. His life began at the time of horseless carriages and have lived through to the new age of iPhone 5s.
At 2:08 A.M., the supercentenarian died. The United Nations has published a surprising document detailing the amount of people living over 100 years of age in 2011/2012. The oldest man was not alone. There are 316,600 people over 100 years old in the year 2011/2012. This number is expected to rise to 3,224,400 in the year 2050.
The oldest man in the world may have died, but in the future, we might find yet another who surpasses him in age with the new advances in medicine that are able to prevent natural death.
