Zayn Malik just released a new video for his song “Like I Would.” And before anyone says anything, yes, it is AWESOME! But let us backtrack for a minute here.
“Like I Would” is Malik's second single from his first solo album “Mind of Mine”, the first solo act from any member of 1D. The song was first announced on “The Tonight Show” and then at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, People noted.
Fans were alerted to the possible unveiling of the music video via a tweet from Malik himself. The one word tweet went, “Midnight.”
And true enough, the laser light-filled video was released late in the evening. The video itself features Zayn Malik in a black jumpsuit. It had neon green and blue stripes all over the outfit. Perhaps most noticeable was Malik's orange right eye. He used a contact lens to achieve this effect. All in all, the video looks right at home with Tron: Legacy!
The video of “Like I Would” was directed by Director X, the same guy behind “Hotline Bling” by Drake and “Work” by Rihanna. It was produced by Malik's former One Direction collaborator Luti Fagbenle.
Zayn Malik's first album as a solo artist debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, giving him the distinction of the first solo artist from the UK to have his very first album debut at number 1 in the US. Malik is also the first British artist to get number 1 on his first album after George Michael 27 years ago in 1988.
Zayn Malik has an estimated net worth of $215 million and he rakes in an annual salary of about $75 million, as per a previous report here on Jobs N Hire. He is also currently dating model Gigi Hadid. The pair had a high-profile shoot for Vogue Magazine's May 2016 issue.
