An Orlando man was the most recent victim of a road rage shooting that killed him while he was making 911 call.
The Orlando road rage victim's name has been identified as Fred William Turner Jr, a 47-year-old married man. The perpetrator has been identified as 48-year-old Jerome Edward Hayes.
On his way back from the grocery store, the Orlando road rage victim called 911 at around 3pm, reporting that he had been followed by a man whom he didn't know. At least once, the unknown man had pulled up beside his car and showed him a gun.
Turner believed that he didn't do anything to make the shooter follow him, but he called 911 when he was still being followed on Interstate 4. As he was speaking with 911, begging for their help, he was shot multiple times.
The car that Jerome Edward Hayes had been driving was allegedly a gray or silver Ford Taurus with tinted windows.
The Orlando Sentinel alleged that there was an 8-hour search for clues on the I-4. The detectives have been closed during the search.
As the Orlando police first approached the vehicle, they were cautious as the perpetrator could have been within it. However, as they finally reached the vehicle, the Orlando road rage victim had already died.
The Orlando Sentinel claims that Hayes has been arrested and booked in the Hillsborough County jail, and he has been charged with first degree murder.
