The currently most talked-about "Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 5 may have been adapted from "Winds of Winter." There is still no official announcement on its release date, though.

In a report by Vox about "Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 5, entitled "The Door," it was noted how the recent installment was a "meta-commentary" on the HBO TV series. Apparently, the episode had a very "Hamlet"-like feel with its "play within a play or show" setting.

In "Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 5, Arya was forced to reconsider her planned assassination after she watched a staged version of her father's execution. This is similar to Shakespeare's work where "the real point of the production isn't the play itself but the impact it has on the character who's watching it."

Moreover, the publication added that the play within a play in "The Door" is adapted from a pre-released chapter of the highly-anticipated "Winds of Winter" book. This will be the sixth installment of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" fantasy series.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 episode 5 also showed the death of one of fans' favorite characters, Hodor. Kristian Nairn, who portrays the friendly giant, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about how he learned about the character's demise.

"It didn't come from [showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss] directly," Nairn said. "I remember talking to another cast member and saying, jokingly, 'So, do I die this season?' And that cast member had a look of panic, like, 'Yep! You're dying, and I don't know how to tell you!' That's how I found out."

The "Game of Thrones" season 6 cast also shared his reaction to the news. "I actually cried," he added. "I didn't cry openly, but I had a little bit of a sob to myself. It's just so sad. To me, it's very satisfying as well. It ties up a lot about Hodor. It ties him all together and kills him at the same time."
