There are a lot of benefits to surrounding one's self with ultra-successful people. One of the advantages is learning first-hand how they are able to achieve so much with the same number of hours in a day.
According to Entrepreneur, Kevin Kruse recently interviewed more than 200 successful people. The study group included 7 billionaires, 13 Olympians as well as a lot of accomplished entrepreneurs.
Kruse simply asked them an open-ended question: "What is your number one secret to productivity?" The publication went on to collate their secrets to success.
First of all, highly-successful people focus on minutes instead of hours. They understand that there are 1,440 minutes in a day and have mastered the art of making every minute count. "To this day, I keep a schedule that is almost minute by minute," Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller told Kruse.
Next, these ultra-successful people identify what their "Most Important Task" is for the day and set to work on it. They also don't use to-do lists - instead, they schedule everything on their calendar. Don't overwork your brain, take note of everything.
Moreover, to beat procrastination, they choose to do what they can do now to make sure that their future selves stay consistent to their goals. "Anticipate how you will self-sabotage in the future, and come up with a solution today to defeat your future self," the publication wrote.
Highly-successful people know that their life consists of so much more than work. They prioritize their families and health more than their careers.
They also know how to keep away from distractions. They don't respond to every notification that comes in every second. Highly-successful people choose to schedule time for processing their emails and other messages.
Furthermore, since they value every minute of their day, they absolutely abhor meetings. If they do attend scheduled meetings, it should be short and straight to the point. They know how to delegate tasks as well as delegate their time on activities that have the best results.
