Samsung is set to release the Galaxy A7 (2017) in December, which is expected to carry impressive specs based on leaked features listed on Zauba and GSMArena. By the time its predecessor, the Galaxy A7 (2016), completes a year-long cycle in the market, the South Korean giant is expected to reveal the mid-range flagship with features coming very close to Galaxy S7.
While the media focus has largely been on Samsung's latest flagship offerings, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy Note 7, several new leaks have surfaced, revealing what to expect from the company's mid-range flagship.
In the past, the new Samsung device carrying the model number SM-A720S has been spotted on Zauba, an imports and exports tracking site in India, giving a hint that it could be launched soon with a 5.7-inch display and a price tag of Rs 13,716 (price likely to be changed at the time of launch), GSM Arena reported.
In addition, Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) has also been listed on GFXBench, revealing its specs that include octa-core 1.8GHz CPU, 5.5-inch full HD display, 3GB/32GB memory configuration, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Aside from its massive chassis, the upcoming Samsung A7 (2017) will sport 16-megapixels front and rear cameras with functions such as autofocus, face detection, LED flash and touch focus. This would be the first time that Samsung will integrate a front camera that has more than 8 megapixels, Game N Guide learned.
The mentioned cameras also come with the capability to record videos in Full HD quality, although 4K recording is not yet confirmed.
The device's internal storage capacity is rumored to be at 32GB and paired with a 3GB of RAM. The central processing unit (CPU) will be paired with an ARM Mali-T830 graphics processing unit (GPU) handling the graphics work.
The device is speculated to arrive in four color options such as black, white, gold and pink, similar to last year's Samsung Galaxy A7.
Meanwhile, the device's previous version, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density). The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (upgradable to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow). It comes packed with a 16GB storage expandable up to 128GB and backed by 3GB of RAM.
