John Cusack Finds Himself In Murder Scenes A Lot Lately

John Cusack is finding himself in a lot of murder scenes lately as he stars in another murder-themed movie titled Frozen Ground. The Hollywood A-lister best known for his roles in the romantic comedy genre also starred as Edgar Allan Poe in the 2012 mystery/thriller film The Raven. Described as a gothic murder mystery, the film is not a standard biopic according to the actor.
When he was interviewed by CNN April of 2012, he said, "Everybody has some tangential relationship to [Poe]. He represents this singularity and a defiance, intellectually so rebellious, and so tragic and sad. He's almost like an archetype of a young shadow ... he's the Godfather of Goth." Cusack's Poe finds himself right in the midst of a murder investigation where the serial killer is using the author's work as a reference material.
Strangely enough, Cusack also plays another role where he is thrust in a number of murder scenes but this time, Cusack is a cold-blooded murderer and rapist. Frozen Ground, a story based on the murders of 17 to 21 women who got abducted, raped, and killed by Alaska man Robert Hansen between the years 1980 and 1983, will be in theaters on August 23rd. The 2013 film did not get much attention from the release of its trailer in June but Frozen Ground is now getting the attention it deserves when a kinky S/M clip came out.
Cusack who started out as a teen star always played lighthearted roles before and him playing against his usual roles is refreshing for the veteran actor.
Frozen Ground also stars another veteran actor Nicolas Cage. The two starred in Con Air 15 years ago making Frozen Ground a reunion movie for Cage and Cusack. Cage plays the role of detective Jack Halcombe in Frozen Ground. He works with Vanessa Hudgen's stripper role to find evidence against the serial killer.
