Since their debut on November 17, 2008, the "Left 4 Dead" video game franchise has immediately followed through with the second rendition "Left 4 Dead 2" in 2009. No further significant developments took place after several years except for the recent impromptu circulation of its free downloadable 'unfinished campaign'.
Going by the title "Dam It", this campaign is intended to resolve missing scenes in between two cinematic segments of the entire storyline. This campaign pieces together the episodes "Dead Air" and "Blood Harvest" in "Left 4 Dead 1".
Direct access to the downloadable campaign's website is shared in an article published by Game Spot. Enthusiastic players can choose 'automatic install' or 'manual install' for this aforementioned free game.
A detailed game map analysis is also illustrated in a similar report by Euro Gamer. Every part of the top-view diagram contains the developer's commentaries, shedding light to some plot holes in the first game's single player storyline.
Prior to the release of this unfinished campaign, important committees once involved in this project experienced a great deal of estrangement. The "Left 4 Dead" developer, Turtle Rock Studios, parted ways with Valve in order to pursue another video game project.
Unfortunately, "Evolve" did not live up to its title. The project was completely abandoned last week. It is important to take note that the apparent state of neglect concerning the continuation of the "Left 4 Dead" franchise belies leaked inside information. Many of the fans are still vigilantly anticipates updates for the upcoming "Left 4 Dead 3".
In this free campaign, players will portray the same old characters from the initial series. Set in Pennsylvania, four survivors struggle to reach the designated rescue extraction point while overcoming a massive horde of zombies. This campaign reintroduces the aged Vietnam War veteran (Bill), the female college student (Zoe), the tattooed renegade biker (Francis) and the IT analyst (Louis).
