Reggie Jackson’s Advice Helps Tim Tebow Make The Winning Hit For The Scottsdale Scorpions

MLB legend and Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson, who is one of MLB's most famous clutch hitters, gave Tim Tebow some hitting advice. That advice helped Tebow hit a walk-off RBI single for the Scottsdale Scorpions.
The New York Daily News reports that Tebow said Jackson was talking about "letting it get deep and going with it. "The whole day they had been throwing me outside fastballs and they had the shift on a little bit," Tebow said.
"So first pitch tried to let it get deep and hit it [the] opposite way, especially when they play you for a pull," He adds. Tebow spent part of the pre-game talking to the MLB legend, who was at the ballpark chatting with some of the Yankees' prospects playing for Tebow's team.
Tebow hasn't really made much of a noise in his first stint in pro baseball, hitting only 5-for-40 (.125) with only one RBI entering that at-bat. The hit was Tebow's second RBI.
According to Yahoo Sports,Tebow has experienced more downs than ups in pro baseball. But his latest hit came against a Triple-A pitcher in the system of the Miami Marlins.
Tebow's struggles are understandable, considering the Arizona Fall League also consists of other high-profile prospects, with many of them Double-A and Triple-A prospects. The former Heisman Trophy winner also hasn't been playing organized baseball since high school.
Nevertheless, Tebow is happy with his first memorable moment as a professional baseball player. "It feels good," he said. Tebow said that it just feels good to be with the guys "and having fun with them and have a come from behind win." He adds that it's also great to get a win like this as the team has already given up a few of these this year.
He adds that these are the kind of situations that you would love to have. Though it has a lot of pressure, but it is fun.
