The latest news about "No Man's Sky" is that developers are working hard to provide new updates to the game to make the game more interesting to fans after its much-hyped release disappointed gamers alike. Unfortunately, it may already be too late to save the game.
According to an episode of Live With YouTube Gaming, the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and the Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios Shawn Layden believes that the developers of "No Man's Sky" will have big updates in store for fans. He said that "Sean Murray and his team had an incredible vision for what they were going to create."
"Something never done before and a very small team had a very huge ambition," he said. "They're still working at it, still updating it. They're trying to get it closer to what their vision was."
Express reports that the latest news on "No Man's Sky's" update involves the base building and a multiplayer component. A crafting system may also be in the works for the game.
Despite the developers working hard to provide updates on "No Man's Sky" and a Sony executive still believing in the game, one analyst thinks that it may be too late already. The analyst believes that that game is dying "a quiet death."
Analyst Michael Goodman said that "No Man's Sky" is similar to movies in that after "opening a box office weekend where it does really well" it just suddenly lose all its hype and "dies a quiet death."
"It started off really hot, had a lot of buzz, oh it's groundbreaking, different and it has this and that," he said. "People tried it and found out that it's a game where you're kind of grinding through it."
One problem that Goodman pointed out was that No Man's Sky is repetitive because it doesn't have the traditional gaming objective. He said the game tried to make the players feel like they're not doing the same thing over and over again by not having some sort of objective.
But it did the opposite and he said it actually made him feel like he's "doing the same thing in ['No Man's Sky]". There's no latest news yet on when the updates for No Man's Sky will come out.
