The 2016-2017 NBA season has been interesting with teams making big moves in the offseason. But it doesn't stop there because NBA trade rumors keep on circling around the league almost every day. There are speculations that the Milwaukee Bucks might trade Greg Monroe due to a crowded frontcourt in its roster. Now, the Los Angeles Lakers would probably acquire the big man by offering Brandon Ingram in return.
In a report by ESPN, the Bucks are planning to put Monroe on the trading block up until the deadline in February 2017. The biggest factor that ignited these NBA trade rumors is the crowded frontcourt trio of the team having Miles Plumlee, John Henson and Greg Monroe at the center position.
Bucks head coach Jason Kidd started John Henson at the center position in a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday getting a 106-96 victory. Plumlee was also the starting center in the team's first eight games. Now, it appears that Monroe would get lesser minutes and have to compete for playing time against his fellow centers.
Kidd commented on the decision of starting Henson saying, "It's going to change again at some point," telling the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "But I think we're comfortable. John has come with some energy. He's doing a really good job for us right now."
The Bucks haven't found the best deal for trading Monroe yet but NBA trade rumors have it that they could be in negotiations with the Lakers according to the Inquistr. One possible deal would be sending Monroe to the Lakers in exchange for Brandon Ingram and Lou Williams.
Ivica Zubac, the Lakers 2nd round draft pick was assigned to the D-League recently to play for the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Now, the Lakers might need some stability in the center position and Monroe could be the right guy for the job.
These NBA trade rumors aren't confirmed yet and there's a slim chance for this to happen. But it's safe to say that anything is possible since the NBA is always full of surprises.
