Famous for her role as Sheldon Copper's girlfriend on CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Mayim Bialik explained to Access Hollywood why she felt the need to blog about her marital difficulties.

The Emmy-nominated actress recently finalized her divorce with husband Michael Stone. She revealed how painful it is to go through a divorce and hopes that by sharing her own experience, she can help others going through the same ordeal as her.

"To me, it was a very cathartic, very emotionally powerful sense of closure for us," Balik said. "It's very intense. So I wrote for Kveller about some of those aspects in hopes to kind of maybe [be] helpful to other people or other women."

The Jewish actress also added, "I wanted to write about some of the more complicated aspects," she said. "And specifically, also, there's certain things [related] to Jewish divorce that people don't know about."

The 37-year-old actress has been writing blog articles for Kveller, a website specifically devoted to Jewish parenting. ABC News reported that Bialik's articles gathered negative reactions because of her belief in long-term breastfeeding, attachment parenting, and just recently, her feelings on divorce.

On her blog, the actress revealed that in Jewish religion, divorcing twice is a requirement. She further explained that part of the entire process is going through something called "Get," wherein you sit in a room next to your soon-to-be-ex-spouse watching your divorce deed be filled out.

Bialik has two sons with her ex-husband - Miles, 7, and Frederick, 4. She also shared how her kids are coping with the situation as the whole family adjusts on their new arrangement.

The Big Bang Theory actress said that their children are doing very well and that she keeps the communication line with her ex-husband open as they transition to this new chapter of their lives.
