Despite the success of the movie "Big Hero 6" at the box office, Disney has remained rather quiet about a possible sequel. But it seems like fans who are waiting for "Big Hero 7" is in for an exciting surprise and will soon get a release date.
"Big Hero 6" raked in $657 million US dollars and was one of the most successful animated films in 2014. Recently, Disney has announced that they will be switching the release dates of two of their upcoming big releases "The Incredibles 2" and "Toy Story 4." However, there was no word about "Big Hero 7."
Master Herald is speculating that Disney Pictures is not revealing the release date because "Big Hero 7" is under Marvel Studios. This being said the movie sequel is in the Marvel line-up.
It was also noted that Marvel Studios has already released their movie release dates until the end of 2019 but it seems like there is still three mystery Marvel movies that have not yet been announced. These movies will be shown on the silver screen by 2020 and it is rumored that "Big Hero 7" is among the three.
The theory was further fueled after Stan Lee mentioned that the filming for "Big Hero 7" will start right after "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is completed. The latter is confirmed to be released on April 25, 2017, so a 2020 release date for the "Big Hero 6" sequel seems to be on point. However, these are just speculations and theory. Fans will have to wait for an official announcement from Disney Pictures or Marvel Studios.
Meanwhile, fans are in for a treat as Disney has confirmed that there is going to be a "Big Hero 6" TV series. Movie News Guide reported that the TV series is to be aired at Disney XD and fans will once again see the adventures of Hiro, Baymax and the rest of the team. The series is expected to be released by 2017.
Jobs & Hire also reported that another fan favorite movie has been delayed. "Jumanji 2" starring Dwayne Johnson has recently announced that the movie release date was moved to a much later date.
