Sometimes you want to let go of your job but you are afraid on what will be the outcome. Everyone will go to a phase where you need to choose whether you stay on your career or just let it go and find another job. It is important to choose if which will give you a best result. Especially nowadays, it is sometimes difficult to find a new job.
According to USA Today, you have to give hint to your employer before leaving, so that, they will notice about your plan in quitting your job.
A two-week notice
You still need to stay in the company and let your boss know about your plan; think about the contract that you signed before entering the job. Let them know so that they can find a replacement for you before you exit the company.
Consider your overall strategy
Consider your career and the consequences if you leave without any notice. It may create a big impact on your next potential job. Your new employer may call your previous company to ask why you left and how did it go between you and the company. Make a good relationship with your previous job, so that you will not make any damage in your future career.
Also, ask yourself, why do you really want to let go of your job? Is it enough for you not to regret it in the future? According to an article from FC Leadership, there are three questions that you need to ask before leaving your job. These are:
1. DID I DAYDREAM ABOUT BEING SOMEWHERE ELSE TODAY?
2. WHAT WOULD IT TAKE FOR MY JOB TO MAKE ME HAPPY?
3. AM I WORRIED ABOUT MONEY?
Can you answer these three questions without having any second thoughts with your answers? If you are 100 percent sure about quitting your job, then, you need to think of the best way on how to resign. As per Jobs and Hire there are tips that may help you on how to resign gracefully.
Quitting your job doesn't mean you made a bad choice; there is nothing wrong in quitting. After all, you still have the right to explore and experience different opportunities.
