As the news leaked about "Ricky and Morty" Season 3 December episode cancellation, GameNGuide recently reported that the script for the episodes was already done as confirmed by the writers, Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carniener. As fans knew about this, they were very hopeful for the upcoming season be released by this coming December.

According to the report, indeed that the script for the episodes were already done but there was a delay in its upcoming season. The reason behind for its delay was its animation process. On a recent interview of Rosbe, she revealed that season 3 scripts already written, but the show's animation has been a slow process.
"We ended four weeks ago, I think. I think they're done soon, they're done really soon. I think in a week or two they're going to have screenings in the production office," Rosbe said. She also confirmed that its new animation process also caused the time lag for its premier, as "Ricky and Morty" Season 3 is adopting an unconventional technique of animation process called "retro-scripting".
