Sui Ishida's hit anime series "Tokyo Ghoul" has taken the world by storm and is now in its third installment. But fans have more reason to rejoice because rumors have spread of a "Tokyo Ghoul" movie adaptation taking place. Who will be playing the roles of Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima?

According to Game N Guide, the production team has made plans of making "Tokyo Ghoul" come to life. The recent success of the series convinced the people behind the franchise to make a movie adaptation.

The live-action film of "Tokyo Ghoul" is expected to hit the screens in Japan next year in the summer of 2017. Sources say that the short film director of "Super Star," Kentaro Hagiwara, will be the director of the movie adaptation. Fans should expect a lot of creativity from Hagiwara since he's well-known for making good movies.

The cast of "Tokyo Ghoul" has also been revealed in a report by Kotaku. The two main protagonists of the anime series Ken Kaneki and Touka Kirishima will be played by Masataka Kubota and Fumika Shimizu respectively.

Aside from "Tokyo Ghoul," the two actors have already taken part in previous anime films. Kubota is an actor well-known for his portrayal of Kiyosato Akira in the live-action film of Rurouni Kenshin while Shimizu is an actress known for taking part in the Kamen Rider franchise.

In other news, "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 might have to step back for a while since the movie adaptation is in the works. There are also reports of "Tokyo Ghoul" creator Sui Ishida taking part in reviving "Hunter X Hunter" which is another reason for the delay of the series.

There are already plot spoilers for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 so it would really disappoint fans if it would be delayed. But either way, fans have a lot of reason to be excited if ever the movie adaptation would be as good as the series.

For now, avid fans just need to wait until next year for the series and film to hit the screens. Stick around for more "Tokyo Ghoul" updates.
