"Assassin's Creed" Movie is will be upon us in less than a month and to excite us more, the Game Awards 2016 showed us not only one but two video clips from the movie. Fox also released a new video trailer that focuses on the fictional machine called 'Animus'.
Animus is an imaginary machine that is used to access the genetic memory of your ancestors. In the game, Animus is shown as a comfortable chair that has different versions through the different installments, while in the movie we get a new dynamic and probably a painful version of the Animus.
In the report by Gamespot, Animus is shown as a huge robotic arm where the subject is attached in the waist area together with a device that is directly injected into the user's own spinal cord. Ouch! After that, the user will now be projected into reliving the past memories of their ancestor, where the robotic arm will move accordingly to the movements of the ancestor being relived.
It is a far cry from the Animus that we know, where you are just supposed to lie down and close your eyes. Then that's it. You are now reliving the memories of your ancestor, kicking ass and going on a killing spree, while your body is in a state like coma.
The first Game Awards video shows the elaborate procedure of entering the Animus while the second one gives us a thrilling chase scene with horses and carriage. Although absent with the typical revving engines and epic explosions the clip managed to give us a breath taking action sequence.
As shown at the end of the chase video, the protagonist used a device from his hidden blade that is somehow similar to a grappling hook to prevent him from falling into the cliff. With this in mind, we are about to see a new version of the hidden blade which is pretty much a tradition throughout the series.
"Assassin's Creed" will be directed by Justin Kurzel that will star Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch and Aguillar, Marion Cotillard, Ariane Labed, Michael K. Williams, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson. The film is set to hit the silver screens on December 21, 2016.
