‘Clash Royale’ Latest News: With Clone Spell Nearing Release, ‘CR’ Awarded Apple App Store’s Game Of The Year! Move Over ‘Pokemon GO!’

Apple App Store revealed that "Clash Royale" is the best game of the year. "Clash Royale" beat out popular games like Niantic's "Pokemon GO" and Supercell's "Clash of Clans." The achievement is just in time since the newest card in "Clash Royale" is about to be released in 2 days.
According to Venture Beat, "Clash Royale" beat out games such as "Reigns," Inks," "FIFA Mobile FootBall," "Klocki," and "Rodeo Stampede: Sky Zoo Safari," for the best game in 2016. It is interesting to note that the hugely successful games "Pokemon GO" and "Clash of Clans" didn't even made the top 10.
MacRumors, Apple revealed its annual Best of 2016 charts for App Store, iTunes Store, and iBooks Store and hailed "Clash Royale" as the iPhone game of the year. Clash Royale is a real time, card-based game that is a spin off from the massively popular game "Clash Of Clans."
The team behind "Clash Royale" shared the news on Twitter. Incidentally, "Clash Royale" is about to introduce its newest card to the game, the Clone Spell. Last month Jobs & Hire revealed that the Clone Spell is an epic card which can duplicate any troops in a target area. While it can be compared to the Mirror Card, the Clone Spell costs less and can be deployed in a manner that is not dependent on the previously played card.
This recognition is a good sign for "Clash Royale" developer, Supercell, who has seen its followers decline with the arrival of "Pokemon GO." Since the release of the augmented-reality location-based game, the sister game of "Clash Royale," the "Clash of Clans" has lost its grip as the alpha dog in the mobile gaming industry.
Jobs & Hire reported that Pokemon GO was recently recognized as the best game for handheld devices during the Game Awards 2016. With frequent updates, "Pokemon GO" is now climbing the top of the ladder. Meanwhile, "Clash Of Clans" is reportedly going to release its own December 2016 Update between December 19-23.
Supercell versus Niantic, now that is a battle royal that people would like to see. Looks like Supercell is one up at the moment with "Clash Royale" bagging the Apple App Store Best Game of the Year. With 2016 winding down, fans can expect a lot more recognition and awards to be handed out by different award giving bodies. Regardless who wins between Supercell and Niantic, fans would benefit the most since both developers would push each other to be the best in the mobile gaming industry.
