Mika Brzezinski denounced Miley Cyrus controversial VMAs 2013 performance during a heated debate with Matt Lauer on "Today" show on Tuesday.

Former Disney star Miley Cyrus had gone all wild and sexy, wagging her tongue out and twerking with Robin Thicke during last Sunday evening's MTV Video Music Awards - media outrage came Monday morning, which seemed to have extended 'til Tuesday.

"Disgusting and disturbing," MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski stressed on "Today" show during their paneling session for "Today's Professionals."

"There's pushing the envelope and there's porn, there's raunchy porn that's disgusting and disturbing and seeing... a 20 year old young woman literally in the process of her undoing and everyone clapping for it and being disturbed by it and talking about it and showing it, which I hope we don't," Mika Brzezinksi continued. "Don't show it here on my segment, please." she added.

However, Matt Lauer began to disagree to Mika Brzezinksi's admonition saying, "I think the only thing that surprises me is that we're surprised," even adding that Miley Cyrus as a "paid performer" was just doing her part in performing a "provocative" song number for the year's "most provocative awards show."

Mika Brzezinski was seen infuriated after hearing Lauer's statement. "Oversexualized is one thing. Is it sexual to stick your face in the face of a life-size teddy bear and stick your tongue out? We're talking about raunch, we're not talking about sexualization," Mika refuted.

Then, things started to go for the worse when Lauer argued back against Mika's opinion, but Brzezinski answered him, "Matt, no, we should denounce it."

On the other hand, radio host Laura Ingraham also voiced out her opinion, "We're on a moral downward spiral," adding, "What you're hearing is the end of the culture."

Rush Limbaugh said that Miley Cyrus performance was very offensive given the fact that the used-to-be Disney teen star has so many loyal Twitter followers.

"Miley Cyrus is known primarily as Hannah Montana, was clean and pure as new snow, she did a stage routine that was just this side of onstage pornography," Rush Limbaugh said in a segment for his radio show on Monday.

NY Daily News stated on a report that MTV has been a target of conservative lambasting for many years now because of its incessantly provocative pop culture.

The Parent's Television Council issued a statement earlier condemning MTV for its live telecast, which was deemed inappropriate for audiences 14 and below.

"MTV has once again succeeded in marketing sexually charged messages to young children using former child stars and condom commercials - while falsely rating this program as appropriate for kids as young as 14. This is unacceptable," Dan Islett, the director of the Council, said in a statement released on Tuesday.
