Harry Potter fans proved that the magic of the hit movie-adaptation of the sensational novel still lives on as the flocked to meet Harry Potter himself in the person of Daniel Radcliffe at the Venice Film Festival, E! Online reported Monday.

As Daniel Radcliffe hit the red carpet of the festival for the premiere of his movie 'Kill Your Darlings,' Harry Potter fans mobbed their way across the barricades to secure a literally close encounter with the actor.

UPI even described the scene saying that the teens "Thumped on the wall and rattled the windows" of the theater. Fortunately, the 24-year-old actor's bodyguards as well as the police responded right away to ensure the Harry Potter star's safety.

During the press conference, Daniel acknowledged the event earlier and even confirmed that he doesn't really mind all the attention he is getting.

"Thankfully, it's not always like this," Daniel said. "I've been dealing with it in various ways since I was 11. I don't take it seriously, actually I think it's funny."

Meanwhile, Radcliffe, who is to portray the young homosexual Allen Ginsberg, said that he is not worried about his Harry Potter fan base despite the fact that the flick features adult-themes such as homosexuality and drug use.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the swirl of support behind me," Daniel said. "My fans seem to be excited by the unconventional path I am taking."

The Harry Potter actor also shared why he took the role, "I love poetry and it was fantastic to get the part and have the opportunity to dive into Ginsberg's life. The diaries he made when he was young gave me an amazing insight into his character."

After Venice Film Festival, Daniel Radcliffe is heading towards the Toronto Film Festival, where he is set to promote his three latest films: 'Kill Your Darlings,' 'The F Word,' and 'Horns.'
