The long wait is finally over! Fans from the western region will be enjoying the second season of the hit anime series "Attack on Titan" as well.  Funimation Entertainment recently announced the acquisition of the license to air "AoT" after three years of its début in the small screen.

According to Crunchyroll, the "Attack On Titan" will conquer the television screens once more for both the US and Canadian markets in April of 2017. Gen Fukunaga, CEO and founder of Funimation also cited that the said anime was a phenomenon worldwide and it continues to grow in a "non-stop pace." He added that fans from the said regions can now rejoice and look forward for the coming of a much more exciting season 2.

However, the big question came after the US and Canada release date for "AoT" and that is if the said airing will coincide with its Japanese programing. As per Game N Guide, there is a higher chance of a simulcast since the season one (also handled by Funimation) was successfully aired along with Japan's release dates.

Another thing to be excited about is that the second season is said to bear more than 20 action-filled episodes which will surely satisfy the longing of the "Attack on Titan" fans. Mike DuBoise, EVP and COO of the Funimation also shared his excitement as he cited the strong fandom for the "Attack on Titan" despite its 3 years off the screen, added Cruncyroll.

"Attack on Titan" is a Japanese manga by Hajime Isamaya which revolves around the fight between regular humans and Titans or humans who turn into destructible giants. Aside from its anime counterpart, "AoT" has also reached platforms such as video games and live action movies, the source said.
