Tesla CEO Elon Musk's 2018 production goals and factory expansion at Fremont, California will have positive implications on the number of workers the firm is to hire, as well as allow for the Model 3 car to be completed as per the deadline.

The automobile manufacturer has a listed a lot of things it wants to get done some of which are to produce 500, 000 electric cars a year by 2018, according to Musk, as well as reach the completion deadline for its up and coming Model 3.

The new and major expansion plans for the current factory in Fremont can certainly ensure that those goals will be met, reports Green Car Reports. Fremont City Council has recently approved them and it spells out pretty well not just for the vehicle, but for the employment numbers on the site too.

Firstly, according to the electrek, the Model 3 will be the first third-generation vehicle and also the least expensive one while not skimping on neither performance nor range. Already, it has received 400, 000 reservations within the first few weeks of its unveiling which occurred in April and it was said to start production next year.

Some were skeptical about the company being able to finish the automobile in time for delivery but with this new report on expansion, production could speed up. No schedule on expansion has been released yet but it is sure to give us an idea on how fast the car will reach buyers.

Secondly, with the factory expanding by 4.6 million square feet, it is reported to add 3, 100 jobs for workers to its current number of 6, 200. If more indication is needed about how much jobs the company creates, there were only 4, 700 people employed by the previous owner of the factory, New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., at the time of its closing in 2010--that is 1, 500 employees less than what Tesla has now.

The employment figures mentioned here do not even include that of the gigafactory in Nevada. Tesla is not only creating jobs but creating efficient cars for consumers.
