Automation Will Not Leave Low-Level Workers Jobless; Here Is Why

Reports of robots replacing humans in the workplace have been circulating online since the year 2000. However, low-level IT workers are not apprehensive because they will be needed the most during the automation transition process.
According to The Economic Times, there will be more professional categories that will totally lose their jobs. Jobs that can be performed by robots will eventually be wiped out. Drivers, teachers, BPO workers and even food servers can be replaced by machines with artificial intelligence.
Hundreds of years ago, people were fearful of an eventual revolution of machines that will replace humans in their work. Many have to give up tasks that do not use machines and apply in companies such as manufacturing, engineering, construction, and others.
As time goes by, an observation on effects of machination to the workplace says that there is no much change. The same fear engulfed employees on the proliferation of machines with artificial intelligence.
However, it has been observed that automation even created more jobs. Changes and disruptions even resulted to more jobs created.
Nowadays, there are companies that operate with no human crew like the Airbnb and Uber. They add up to the industry but did not lay off employees.
Undeniably, there will be a reduction in the work force for old employees but an addition for new positions for the transition. For those in danger of losing their job, it is not yet the end of the world. They need to innovate and go with the technological trend. Otherwise, they will be left behind.
Man instead of a machine is the reverse nowadays. A machine is much preferred than human. Automation speeds up things thus creating more industries that will hire more people.
Life standards are better in the automated days than during the primitive days. Those left behind or lost their jobs are people that do not upgrade. Most of them are employees who are nearing retirement or those that have been employed more than half of their lives.
Futurologist Alvin Toffler said that "The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn and relearn." Automation is irreversible. The future is artificial intelligence. However, humans will never be left out.
