Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls are being pulled from the shelves around grocery stores nationwide, after General Mills has announced a recall.

General Mills, Inc., which is responsible for marketing well-loved American brands (Betty Crocker, Yoplait, Green Giant, Pillsbury, Cheerios, Haagen-Dazs, Cheerios, Lucky Charms) has announced Friday, September 6, a voluntary class II recall refrigerated Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing.

Specifics regarding the products being recalled: Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls with Icing, which include 8-count single packages and 2 packs, with the former having Better If Used By dates of October 30, 2013 and October 31, 2013, and the latter, October 18 2013, October 26, 2013, and Oct 31 2013.

No other flavors of the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls line are being recalled, as well as other Pillsbury dough products. Therefore, Pillsbury Flaky Cinnamon Rolls and Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls are not included in the recall. Customers inconvenienced by unfulfilled cravings of the recalled batch of cinnamon rolls can, however, rest easy as General Mills has promised quick replacements of the affected products.

The company has been reported have issued the recall because of an error in production: there had been a broken piece of plastic on the production line. In their public statement, General Mills states that the recall has been an act of precaution, as a broken plastic have been discovered in the immediate production area, which in turn might have found its way into the dough. Alarms and suspicions about potentially dangerous ingredients in their favorite refrigerated pastries are now no longer cause for concern, and the company has been lauded for their swift response to the situation.
