Another Toyota recall has been made on Monday. Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling over 780,000 crossovers and hybrid sedans in the United States for the second time after a major recall for the said models last year, Yahoo! reported Tuesday.

A Toyota spokeswoman announced that the company will be recalling at least 780,000 crossovers and hybrid sedans to repair a suspension defect that was left unresolved in the first recall in 2012.

BBC reported that the rear suspension defect refers to the tendency of the rear suspension arm of the said vehicles to rust, which might possibly lead to total vehicular failure, if nuts are not properly tightened during the service.

The Japanese automaker giant reportedly made a first recall for its 2006 through 2011 RAV4 crossover and its Lexus HS250 hybrid sedan in August 2012 to prevent the wobbling of the rear suspension arm, which is seen as a possible threat that could lead to a crash.

The US safety watchdog said that the first Toyota Recall could "cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash"

According to documents from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company found out recently that the adjustment nuts used on the rear wheel alignment may not have been tightened properly.

Because of this, Toyota had decided to take the brave step of recalling the said models once again, adding that new repair will securely seal the rear lower suspension arms using an epoxy that could prevent corrosion.

"After the inspection or replacement, the rear suspension alignment will be set and the arms will be sealed with an epoxy," the letters issued by the company to its dealers stated.

The carmaker added that labels would be applied on the arms of the properly fixed models to indicate that the suspension arms are no longer adjustable.

Nevertheless, because of the scarcity in the number of parts, Toyota Motor Corp. will launch the new recall and end it right away in February 2014.

Several U.S. auto safety regulators said that the company has inspected and fixed 20,400 vehicles as of the end of the month of June.

BBC stated that the new Toyota recall is the company's move towards rebuilding its image after a spate of recalls were made due to safety concerns continuously raised within the past few years.
