Vegans and travelers can now get fresh salads from vending machines. Reports say some vending machines for fresh salads are available in some airports.
Since vending machines are commonly used for soda and cookies, there will also be machines for not only a fresh salad but also for cosmetics and local artworks. Most travelers are accustomed to having their meals in the airport before their scheduled flight. Though there are numerous stalls of different kinds, it would still be difficult to pick the right meal to satisfy their hunger.
Vending machines are usually seen along the hallway or the road which brings more convenience to the consumers. It does not require them to order their meals but instead they just have to insert coins or bills and wait for the item to come out of it. Now, vegans can still maintain their vegetarian diet even when they are waiting for their flight.
The SouveNEAR proudly revealed that new vending machines will be installed at Oakland International Airport, Kansas City International Airport, and other locations. Though it was not specifically mentioned when they are planning to officially open, these machines will dispense a variety of products.
"The small footprint [of a vending machine] gives us an opportunity to be in more spots within an airport so it's easier for people to find us," Suzanne Southard, the SouveNEAR co-founder, said.
According to the NBC News, the objects will range from arts, t-shirts, gourmet food, jewelry, and kid stuff. It will be available for 24 hours every day. Southard also insisted that customers will surely have "fun" buying artworks from the machine.
Last month, it was reported that Chicago's O'Hare International Airport passengers were able to buy fresh salads and healthy snacks at a vending booth of Farmer's Fridge. There are two more vending booths slated for installation at the same airport before the year ends.
The sources clarified that the vending machines are restocked every night of the week. The unsold products are pulled out to ensure fresh vegetables from the vending machine.
