Contrary to popular belief, many successful women do not spend their weekends glued to their laptops. Most are quite content to leave work in the office, and the weekends are dedicated to spending quality time with family and friends, as well as pursuing interests and hobbies which are all essential to a balanced life.
Though they’re truly passionate about their work, successful women know that it is equally important to prepare oneself for the following work week. This is the reason why they take the time to take care of themselves, reconnect with loved ones, and focus on the things that feed their spirit.
Here are five things that successful women do on the weekend.
They pamper themselves
After a long week, most successful women spend a day pampering and rejuvenating themselves in preparation for the next work week. Saturday is the perfect day for this, so they head to spas, salons, manicure places, and the like. This way, they’re refreshed and ready to take on more tasks in the coming days.
They spend time with the people they love
Successful women spend the weekends with their family and friends. They might schedule a weekend getaway to the beach or they go camping with their nearest and dearest. Glamorous camping, known as glamping, is also a popular activity for successful women. Oprah Winfrey and her friend, Gayle King, are fans of this luxurious outdoor activity.
They read
Successful women have lists of books to read, and they often tackle their reading list during the weekend. Sarah Jessica Parker, Mayim Bialik, Lena Dunham, Kate Hudson, and Reese Witherspoon are known for their love of books, and these actresses have been known to recommend good reads.
They pursue their interests
Whether it’s searching for antique furniture, knitting, calligraphy, playing the piano, or painting, successful women spend a part of their weekend pursuing their interests. Having a hobby hones people’s creativity, and it enables one to see things in a different light.
They learn something new
Successful women devote a chunk of their weekends to learn a new skill, whether it’s cooking, horseback riding, coding, and the like.
