'One Direction: This Is Us - Extended Fan Cut' - the extended version of One Direction's debut movie - will be released in cinemas after the original one proved to be a major hit, MSN Entertainment reported Tuesday.

Because 1D's 'One Direction: This Is Us' debut film became a major hit since the day it was released in August, raking over $60 million ticket sales worldwide, the British lads will be back on the big screen sooner than expected.

Sony Pictures execs, who worked behind the Morgan Spurlock-directed debut film, have announced that a new version of the massive hit project will be out on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013. 'One Direction: This Is Us - Extended Fan Cut' will feature fresh footage on One Direction's off-cam adventures and will also include four extra songs the boy group has performed in several concerts.

Marketing Chairman for Sony Pictures Jeff Blake said, "We're overwhelmed by the response to the film, so we're thrilled to be able to release this extended cut for One Direction fans."

Aside from this good news to 1D fans, another one came in today, saying that One Direction have been nominated for several 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards categories.

The "X Factor" U.K. stars were nominated for three categories at the 2013 MTV Europe Music Awards, which will be held at Zigge Dome in Amsterdam on Nov. 10, 2013, the Examiner reported.

The British boy band is nominated for Best Pop, Biggest Fans, and Best U.K. & Ireland Act categories and 1D's Harry Styles is reportedly nominated for the Best Look award as well.

One Direction won Best New Act and Biggest Fans in last year's MTV Europe Music Awards.

Earlier reports stated that the band was named Best U.K. & Ireland Act in the preliminary nominations for Best Worldwide Act in 2012, but the boys didn't make in the final five nominees.

The group, which came in third on 'The X Factor' U.K. 2010, didn't make it to the 2012 ceremony to claim their awards because they were busy promoting their second album 'Take Me Home' in New York.
