It might take a few more years before Facebook's job feature can replace LinkedIn as the go-to job website, said Forbes article.

Forbes contributor Lisa Rabasca Roepe wrote an article answering the question whether or not Facebook Jobs will soon replace LinkedIn. She wrote that although the feature is easy and convenient to use, users have reported unsatisfactory reviews.

The President of Seamless HR Solutions, Rachel Fremont Alansky, stated that the job feature of the social media site, which allows for firms to post job listings the same way they would a status update and for job applicants to send applications via Messenger, is still too young. She added that it's a suitable platform for those looking for non-professional jobs, but it would not be able to replace LinkedIn for professional ones.

User reviews support Alansky's statement that the feature may be too young. One person, for instance, stated that the search results were too broad.

Beth Lawton is the owner of Canoe Media Services. According to Lawton, the feature is not the first website she'll go to when on the job hunt due to her experience of having to scroll through irrelevant job listings on Facebook before she found something she wanted to apply for.

She added that she'll stick with the more traditional job websites such as LinkedIn and other job boards. Clearly, Facebook Jobs still needs to refine its search results.

CEO of GoHire Jonathan Duarte also had something to say about the feature. He said that postings through Facebook didn't receive a lot of responses for the case of three firms that he knew.

Even with boosting the post, it only yielded three or fewer candidates. This is in contrast to Indeed or craigslist where a boost would lead to over a hundred responses.

The poor response rate could be due to the fact that not a lot of people are aware of the feature or of the posting. For now, however, LinkedIn remains to be the go-to website of many.
