How To Be More Creative In The Workplace

Children are naturally creative, and that’s the reason why they are able to come up with some of the most unique ideas ever. As we grow, this sense of creativity diminishes in most people, and many choose to rely on logic and common sense throughout their lives, especially when it comes to their careers.
However, being a creative person is an asset in any work environment, that’s why it’s important to hone one’s innovative abilities to the fullest. If you’re feeling uninspired or simply lack the will to think creatively, don’t worry. There are various ways to spark one’s creativity, no matter what your job is.
Here are some tips on how to be more creative in the workplace.
Set aside some time for play
Playing is one of the ways that you can be more productive in the workplace. Bring a bit of clay or a small Lego set to work and play a bit instead of going on social media during your free time.
Keep an idea journal
Write down ideas that you have for a book, a movie, a TV show, or a unique business. If drawing’s more your forte, you can sketch outfit ideas, dream house ideas, and the like. Don’t worry if your ideas seem to be too weird for real life. Never forget that some of the most eccentric people are also the most successful. Lady Gaga and Tim Burton are great examples.
Try something new
You don’t have to try a big activity (such as skydiving) to get inspired. All you need to do is try new things in your everyday life. For instance, if you take the same route to work every day, find out if you can get to the office while taking other roads.
You can also try to eat food that you’ve never eaten before or enter a store that you’ve never been to. Start small, and before you know it, you’ll be ready to try other new things in life that will help restart your creativity.
Meet new people
There’s something to be said about engaging in conversation with people you’ve just met, so venture out of your inner circle and talk to new people at parties and other social gatherings. You’ll never know what sort of new ideas you can get when you’re faced with different perspectives.
