was an exciting cross to the finish line for Team USA, who has officially won this year's America's Cup.

The beautiful American catamaran was captured sprinting upwind, with a crew led by Ben Ainslie. The defending champions Oracle USA, beat out Emirates Team New Zealand on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Their victory is being hailed as one of the most outstanding comebacks in sports history.

The Oracle was actually down 8 races to one and was on the brink of elimination for many days. However, through the efforts of the talented crew, the Oracle was able to come back to each reach which allowed them to compete in the finals. They ended up with a 9-8 record, to close one of the most closely-contested series in the 162 years of the America's cup history.

Credit to the victory is given to the Oracle's crew, who, when faced with even the toughest obstacles, didn't even flinch.

The day ended on a sad note for Emirates New Zealand, who finished second. Their team also saw three weeks of racing and battled some crazy momentum swings here and there. However, the team expressed congratulations to the US team saying "hats off to them"

Since the America's cup was founded, there have only been two instances where the competition had to come down to once deciding race. When Bob Fisher,  British sailing historian was interviewed, he expressed that he could not remember such "nip-amd-tuck battles throughout a series". He made an effort to mention the lead changes he witnessed, adding that lead changes were really not common in the America's Cup.

The Emirates, did in fact start out with an early lead, but the American boat soon caught up, and made up the difference. They showcased amazing acceleration on the upwind.

Crowds cheered the American team to victory, waving flags. As soon as the team got off the boat, they began a champagne spraying frenzy.
