It’s hard to believe that it is Grey’s Anatomy’s 10th season already! The new season kicks up with a lot of drama, as per usual. This time, the staff of the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital face a super storm that is rumored to be deadly.

Speaking of storms, there are personal storms going on in many of the lead character’s lives too. New mom Meredith has close to no clue as to what is going on about Derek Shepherd, her husband. Cristina, played by the soon to depart Sandra Oh, starts off the season, fresh from divorce and tries to live life post marriage. Callie, who found out that her partner, Arizona cheated on her, has to deal with the whole thing.

The cast was actually interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter about their character’s different challenges. Ellen Pompeo touched on the challenge of rearing two children, while still being at the top of her character’s career as a surgeon. Patrick Dempsey said that for Dr. Dreamy, the challenge lay in his ability to balance his life at home and at work. For Dr. Owen, played by Kevin McKidd, it will be all about trying to live without his partner and wife. Of course, Sara Ramirez’s character’s problem with infidelity is something many can relate to. Her focus this season will probably be with dealing with the betrayal, and all the emotions that come with that.

Of course, there are plenty of other characters, and their respective challenges, that fans can look out for, besides the obvious ones. There’s Alex played by Justin Chambers, who is in a new relationship with Jo, (Camilla Luddington). Sarah Drew as April will also give audiences that romantic twist that they need, as she figures out the waters with Matthew (Justin Breuning).

Grey’s Anatomy returns with a 2-hour premier on the ABC.
